Heinz Voices Submission Guidelines

Overview

Heinz Voices accepts thoughtful, relevant op-eds with well-written insights into the latest policy topics in the news or in academia. Submissions are accepted from students at Carnegie Mellon University, members of the Pittsburgh community, and anyone who is interested in contributing high-quality material.

Content Guidelines

  • The topic of the entry should be relevant to current events or recent developments in: government, public policy, the arts, healthcare management and administration, information systems and technology, or management science/operations research.
  • Entries should be 500-1500 words in length. This is a strict word length window and is in line with traditional lengths for opinion columns, which find and prove their strength in the way they pack valuable, persuasive, and powerful messages into concise constructions.
  • By submitting an article, you acknowledge that all material is your own, and that the Heinz Journal has exclusive permission to publish your article, with or without alterations.
  • The Editor-in-Chief, with the assistance of Voices Contributing Editor(s), screens the articles to determine their quality, relevance, and compliance with the outlined guidelines. Submission to Voices is no guarantee of publication.
